Chinese New Year
The Year of the Dragon was ushered in early at Greendale Primary school in the midst of loud drum beats and prancing lions on the stage. The excitement was almost palpable as pupils greeted the entrance of the pair of lions with loud cheers and applause. The energetic lions enthralled the pupils and performed the traditional custom of "cai qing" (採青) which literally means "plucking the greens". The dance ended with the Principal receiving a scroll from the Lion that reads: “Auspicious Lions Present Blessings to the School”.
